Medicare Supplement Plan F
Medigap Plan F
Perhaps you're realizing that Original Medicare covers many things, however, it does have costs that are not covered. This is where Medicare supplemental comes in.
What Is Medigap Plan F?
This plan, also called Medicare Supplement F, is the most comprehensive Medigap plan available. These plans, provided through private insurance companies that contract with Medicare, fill in the "gaps" left by your federal care plan. Medigap Plan F casts the widest net, covering the all doctor and hospital costs not covered by Original Medicare. This can include any hospital costs leftover once Original Medicare has paid all it can.
What Benefits Does Plan F Cover?
Your Medicare Supplement F plan can help you take care of any of the following:
- Part A's deductible
- Part B's deductible
- The 20% of doctor bills not paid for by Medicare
- Part B excess charges
- Foreign Travel Emergencies
- Co-insurance for skilled nursing facilities
Please remember, however: Beginning in 2020, Medigap Plan F will no longer be available to anyone new to Medicare.
