Medicare Options by County

The options available for individuals on Medicare in New Jersey vary based on the county where you reside.  Medicare itself is a national program, however, most plans are offered on a state or county basis.

For example, Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) and Prescription Drug plans (Part D) offer plans on a county basis. Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap) are offered on a state by state basis so all residents of NJ will have the same options for these plans.

Assistance for New Jersey Residents

 For those on a limited income, New Jersey offers Prescription Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD)  and Senior Gold to help pay for prescription drug costs.  The main requirements for these programs is New Jersey residency and income.  The application also provides screening for additional assistance programs in New Jersey.
