Administrative Assistant, Part-Time, Orange, NJ

New Jersey Medicare Brokers is seeking a motivated, resourceful and highly organized Administrative Assistant. The role is part-time, up to 25 hours per week at our office in Orange, NJ. You will be an integral part of our team, supporting the growth of the business through customer relations and administrative support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow and learn the health insurance industry.

 

Duties

  • Lead our customer service efforts by managing our business line, monitoring emails, and responding to website inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support the insurance brokers throughout the sales process which includes scheduling and confirming appointments and gathering personal information for prospective clients prior to an appointment.
  • Screen and assist current and prospective clients with applications for federal and state assistance programs and check the status of applications weekly.
  • Support our efforts to be 100% digital by managing clerical tasks such as scanning, filing, organizing documents, and maintaining records in the cloud.
  • Utilize software applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite to create, edit, and store documents.
  • Prepare and send outreach mailings to clients.
  • Monitor supply and order office supplies, insurance applications and other required materials.

Position Requirements

  • Positive attitude and openness to learn new concepts independently
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of similar experience in customer service and relations
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (written and oral)
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Attention to detail and maintaining accurate records
  • Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with Google Office Suite, Zoom, Salesforce and all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

  • Position includes prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Candidate must be able to lift to 20 pounds, at times

Compensation

  • $21/hour up to 25 hours per week
  • Accrued paid sick time
  • Assistance with expenses related to obtaining and maintaining NJ Accident and Health licensure after six months of employment.
